Luang Por Dtun (Thiracitto) is considered to be one of the greatest living meditation masters in Thailand. Renowned for his gentle demeanour and wisdom, Luang Por has an impeccable reputation as a well-practised monk in the Ajahn Chah Tradition.
Born in 1955 in Ayutthaya, Thailand, Luang Por was raised in Bangkok. After graduating in March 1978 with a Bachelors in Economics, he was accepted to study for a Masters degree in Town Planning at the University of Colorado, USA. However, many small insights came to force which led him to his decision to lead the holy life.
In June 1978, he travelled to the North-Eastern province of Ubon Ratchathani to be ordained by Venerable Ajahn Chah at Wat Nong Pah Pong. Presently, Luang Por is the Abbot of Wat Boonyawad in Chonburi, Thailand – the 130th branch monastery of Venerable Ajahn Chah.

Dear devotees, with the start of the Vassa (Rains Retreat) on 25th July, we are pleased to have completed our first live streaming of the evening chanting at Palelai Buddhist Temple.
As we will only be streaming the evening chanting on selected dates during the Vassa (refer to previous announcement), we hope that devotees will continue with their daily practice of morning and evening chanting on their own.
The recording of today’s evening chanting can be accessed via Facebook here:

Due to overwhelming support, all the lanterns in the main shrine have been fully sponsored and we will be closing the collection for the Merit Lantern event.
We like to thank all donors for your generous donations to the temple amid the difficult covid situation. May the merits from your good deeds bring you peace and happiness in your everyday life.
