Mission
Our mission is to preserve and propagate the Theravada tradition of Lord Buddha’s Dhamma-Vinaya for the happiness and welfare of future generations of Singaporeans. Specifically, our society aims to:
Set up and run suitable premises, creating an environment that is conducive to the teaching, practice and propagation of the Dhamma-Vinaya;
Encourage, nurture and support individuals who wish to dedicate themselves to the objectives of Pariyatti (study), Paṭipatti (practice), Paṭivedha (realization of Awakening) and Dhammadūta (propagation of the Dhamma);
Make available resources for the study of the Dhamma-Vinaya by providing library facilities, publishing and distributing Dhamma books in print and other appropriate media;
Organise and support classes, seminars and courses for the teaching of Dhamma-Vinaya to our members and the public;
Organise and support social and charitable activities to encourage members and the public to put into practice and cultivate Lord Buddha’s teachings of Giving (dāna), Loving Kindness (mettā), Compassion (karuṇā), Empathetic Joy (muditā) and Equanimity (upekkhā).
