Volunteer Roles

This list is sorted with the easier, lower commitment roles first. The roles towards the end of the list require more specialist knowledge and commitment.

Sangha Support
  • 🗓️ Twice yearly event for spring-cleaning

    There will be a call for volunteers closer to the date, please join the Volunteers' telegram group for updates

  • 🗓️ During events

    • Area clean up and set up of the main shrine area including fans, tables, platform, floor
    • Clear incense sticks (main shrine) and candles (Four-faced Brahma Sahampati)
    • Set up signages

  • 🗓️ During events

    Indoor area cleaning, tidying, mopping and wiping of surfaces, specially the dana hall area

  • 🗓️ During events

    • Area clean up and set up, emptying of trashbins
    • Sweeping
    • Set up signages (to washrooms)

  • Floral arrangement needs for the temple such as:

    • Floral decoration around the temple
    • Candles and flower counters for devotees
    • Prepare candle holders and set up racks and tables for circumambulation ceremony and clean up

  • • Set up in the main shrine, cleaning and tidying.
    • Arrange altar table, candles, and joss sticks
    • Arrangement of Sangha seating mats, drinks and tissue boxes
    • Help Sangha with alms or blessing bowls if required
    • Tidying and cleaning thereafter

  • • Some events, like Vesak will have a Pindapata ceremony conducted on temple grounds
    • Each monk will be accompanied by an attendant, who may help handle the donations.
    • The attendants may also help to explain matters to the laities (e.g. not to put money in the alms bowl)
    • Additional supporters are also required to relieve items from the primary attendant to the storage
