Songkran Day (from the Sanskrit word saṃkrānti, literally “astrological passage”, meaning transformation or change) is the traditional Thai New Year Day.
It is celebrated on the 13th of April annually. Songkran is also popularly known as the “Thai Water Festival” because revellers celebrate it by splashing water on each other.
Thais welcome the new year with acts of respect to their elders, charity and merit making for their departed relatives.
We welcome you, your family and friends to join us in welcoming the Thai New Year on Saturday, 13th April. As some members/devotees may be splashing water onto each other, please avoid the designated area for them, if you do not wish to participate in it.
