Clarification issued to Stomp on the image used for story “Men in monk's robes spotted asking for money on street, S'pore Buddhist Federation says it's wrong”

A Stomp article was published on 8 Jan which used an image of Palelai monks on their daily alms-round, which could be misinterpreted that our monks are asking for money.

We have issued a written clarification to the website to help them understand the purpose of the Theravada Buddhist monks’ daily alms-round practice and what can/cannot be done by the monks during alms round. Please see our response and help share it with your family and friends for their information too.
