Devo (short for Devorohana, meaning the Lord Buddha's descent from the celestial world) Day is the day that we commemorate Lord Buddha’s descent from Tāvatiṁsa Heaven at the end of the Rains Retreat after teaching his mother, Queen Mahāmāyā, the Abhidhamma.
The commemoration will begin with auspicious chanting in the Main Shrine, followed by alms-round (pindapata) within the temple premises.
